East Royce Mountain in the Evans Notch area is a moderate to strenuous hike with fine panoramic views. It can be hiked by itself – via either the East Royce and Laughing Lion Trails. If you’re REALLY feeling ambitious, and are up for a 9 to 10 hour hike, you can loop East Royce, Speckled and Blueberry Mountains together – via the East Royce Trail > Spruce Hill Trail > Blueberry Ridge Trail loop, starting and ending at Brickett Place. The East Royce Trail goes almost to the true summit, where all the views are. A short herd path leads to the viewless true summit, about 500 feet to the North.
