Old Speck once had an active fire tower, which has now been refurbished to provide 360-degree views of the surrounding area. Though the shortest and most common way up Old Speck is via the Appalachian and Eyebrow Trails from the Grafton Notch Parking lot, my favorite way is the way that traverses Mahoosuc Arm and loops around Speck Pond from the trailhead at Success Pond Road.
